Patterns
“The Parelli Patterns Clinic”
Patterns have always been a big part of the psychology that Pat Parelli uses to develop his horses, because he knows that horses are pattern
animals. Have you noticed how horses have routines in their daily behaviour? Using this knowledge when teaching horses helps them to
learn more quickly.
The Parelli Patterns are the exercises you do every day with your horse to gain a stronger relationship, clearer communication and a
stronger partnership. There is a certain consistency and repetition about a pattern that makes it easy to learn, and that is precisely what the
Parelli Patterns are all about. By the fourth session with your horse you suddenly realize that he seems to know what to do and starts
following the pattern with little to no guidance. The wonderful part is that your horse becomes an active participant.
What will be covered:
• understanding horsenalities and that patterns will give him the necessary skills to become balanced on the impulsion scale
(“Whoa vs Go”)
• patterns that are better for unmotivated horses and patterns that are better for motivated ones
• patterns from Levels 2 to 4 including:
